OneCo's work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
OneCo plays an important role in the development of a greener and more sustainable society. We work purposefully to realise our own ambitions and fulfil our social responsibility.
We have prioritised measures within 4 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
Good education
OneCo trains the professionals of the future and employs over 200 apprentices at any given time. This means that more than 12 % of our operational employees are apprentices (8 % of the total number of employees). We facilitate further education and specialisation and provide skills development through participation in projects and assignments. OneCo has arranged for people who do not have a "full CV" to be given the opportunity for a job in OneCo - as well as an apprenticeship if desired.
Goal 2020-2024
Increase the number of apprentices and ensure that they pass the apprenticeship test within the prescribed time. Employ people with inadequate CVs according to the same model as Møller Medvind.
Equality between the sexes
OneCo will work actively to improve the gender balance in the Group.
Goal 2020-2024
Increase the proportion of women in the Group to 12 %.
Decent work and economic growth
OneCo, with its 2,840 employees, is a large employer. Our values are longevity, passion and generosity. These shall be prominent in all our actions. We shall at all times comply with applicable laws and agreements to ensure good working conditions and safe working conditions.
Goal 2020-2024
Ensure sustainable operations and management through the implementation of internationally recognised standards and certificates across the Group's business areas. Maintain our vision of zero lost-time injuries among our own employees and others who perform work for OneCo.
Stopping climate change
OneCo wants to reduce the climate and environmental footprint of our business. We will reduce our own climate footprint by 50 % by 2030 and eventually become climate neutral. To achieve this, we need to reduce the use of fossil fuels, choose environmentally friendly products and increase expertise in sustainable project implementation.
Goal 2020-2024
Reduce our own climate emissions from our service vehicles by at least 30 %. Increase expertise among our own employees related to sustainable project implementation.
Humanitarian support for Save the Children's work in Ukraine
When war broke out in Ukraine, OneCo set up a splice where our employees could make a contribution - and where the Group doubled this amount. In total, NOK 1,116,725 was collected in this splice.
Save the Children is present in Ukraine and the neighbouring countries of Romania, Poland and Lithuania, helping children and their families every day with food, blankets, toiletries, toys, medical assistance, support and protection for children and help to keep families together.
Those who have fled the country are also helped with accommodation, schooling, legal assistance and information about their rights as refugees. We are also working in other European countries to ensure that refugees are well received.
The funds from OneCo have contributed to:
- 80,000 children and their families have received food, money and health care
- 120,000 children and their families have received protection and psychosocial support
- 3,100 children have received support for education, including learning materials and digital education programmes
