As of 1 January 2013, OneCo will take over the operation of Cargotec's production facility in Kristiansand. As a consequence of its strategy, Cargotec has been working for some time to find a player that can take over and continue the activities related to the production and assembly of its equipment at its facility in Vågsbygd. Cargotec has now reached an agreement for this with the OneCo Group.

"Cargotec currently has a production facility for assembling our equipment that is not adapted to our needs. We have therefore been working for some time to find a solution where we can still have a significant part of the production in Kristiansand and thus get the desired proximity to production. We are therefore very pleased that we have now agreed on an agreement with OneCo. We are convinced that this will be a good solution for both us and those who currently work in the part of our organisation that will be affected by this. OneCo will be able to add a lot of positives to the operation that will strengthen the activity and thus secure the jobs and their development in a better way than Cargotec will be able to. At the same time, Cargotec will be able to concentrate on its core activities of development, engineering and sales," says Tom Harald Svennevig of Cargotec Norway.
The agreement between OneCo and Cargotec means that OneCo takes over employees, equipment, premises and ongoing assignments. The lease agreement for the shipyard area is also transferred to OneCo.

"For OneCo, the acquisition of Cargotec's production is an important step in the fulfilment of our strategy and investment in offshore/marine. The agreement will strengthen our position and give us access to expertise, capacity and locations that we have long been looking for. The production, together with the expertise of our alliance partners, will strengthen our position as a highly competitive supplier to our customers, who will mainly be rig and ship owners as well as equipment suppliers," says Marvin Jensen, CEO of OneCo.
To ensure a high level of focus on the operation and development of the activity that is now being transferred to OneCo, it will be included in a separate company, OneCo Offshore Services AS. The company's CEO will be Johnny Drange. He has extensive experience in this business area.

Earlier this year, OneCo acquired Keppel's Norwegian business, Keppel Norway AS in Sandnes. From operating with negative figures in recent years - the financial results have now turned into good deliveries for this company. The company now operates under the name OneCo Contracting.
"The location in Kristiansand, together with the locations in Sandnes, will ensure that within Offshore and Marine, we have significant production capacity and expertise to handle large and complex deliveries - where several technical disciplines are represented," Jensen concludes.
The shipyard area has a full range of facilities and is geographically well located among the offshore industry in Southern Norway
