OneCo delivers automation to some of the world's greenest data centres

Green Mountain data centre, majority owned by Smedvig, is one of the world's greenest data centre providers. Its location allows it to utilise 100% of renewable hydropower to power and cool its award-winning, high-efficiency facilities located deep in the Norwegian mountains. Green Mountain has so far three data centre locations in Norway and with their focus on green standards, world-class security, quality with 100% uptime and cost-efficiency, they are at the forefront of world leadership.

The collaboration between OneCo and Green Mountain began back in 2011 when OneCo was chosen to supply automation, electrical and high-voltage services for the DC1 Rennesøy development. Automation is supplied by the technology company OneCo Technologies AS. Automation delivers management and control systems to Green Mountain. Reporting systems, SCADA, data collection, PLC control and monitoring of critical process sections such as cooling, power supply, backup power such as UPS/emergency power units. This allows Green Mountain to secure operation and monitor its facilities to ensure quality to its customers at 100% uptime.

In 2020, OneCo completed several projects together such as the expansion of hall6 DC1 Rennesøy and at DC3 Oslo, where OneCo had approximately 40 men on site during the largest peaks, divided between automation, electrical and high-voltage deliveries.

OneCo must be at the forefront of technical expertise in order to always be able to assist our customers with today's and tomorrow's technology and facilities. This means that we always have a high level of expertise with exciting work and opportunities for our approximately 75 automation employees in Norway. We're really looking forward to continued good co-operation in the years to come," adds Nikolaisen.
