Charging in housing cooperatives and condominiums
Charging in housing cooperatives and condominiums
The Norwegian Parliament has decided that you are now entitled to have a charging point established if you live in condominium or belongs to a condominium.
This does not mean that you are entitled to a parking space if you don't already have one, but if you have a parking space you can now claim that it a charging point is established for you.
According to the new rules, the housing cooperative/community must cover the costs of infrastructure for chargers, so that electricity is provided to each car park.
Before setting up infrastructure/assembly, it is important to think things through in the planning phase:
- Number of charging points, do not prepare charging points for 10 devices, if it turns out afterwards that one should have had to 12.
- Type of charger, feel free to agree on the model/type of charger, as installing different chargers on the same infrastructure can quickly lead to problems.
Example of satisfied customers with charging systems installed by OneCo:
- Prestheia Terrasse 98-100 (Read more in case from SBBL, page 19.)
- Andreas Kjærs Plass housing association.
If there are no fixed parking spaces, the housing cooperative/cooperative will also cover the cost of installing and mounting each charger, but the actual power consumption will be covered by each user.
If there are fixed parking spaces, the owner must cover the costs of installation and mounting, as well as power consumption - since the charger cannot be used by others.
BUT, even though there is now a requirement for charging points to be established, the board can still say no.
- so no residents can have anything installed and fitted until it has been approved by the board!
If the costs are too high, the board can refuse to establish a charging point for your own car park, but rather agree to charging stations in a common area.
You must therefore obtain a detailed quotation from an electrician so that you can get all the costs on the table before you get started.
OneCo helps you get an overview of capacity, installation options and comes up with the right solution for you.
