During OneCo's employee event on Saturday 7 September, the "OneCo Hero" award was presented.

"A hero is a term that describes an admirable and exemplary person. A OneCo hero makes a difference to individuals, organisations or society. A OneCo hero is a person who clearly represents OneCo's values of LONGEVITY - PASSION - FAIRNESS and who creates results through their commitment. We have chosen to recognise and financially support such a person for 2013," says Arnstein Moy, director of business development at OneCo.

"Anne Louise Hübert is a true hero - with a special story behind her. She shows that courage, determination and commitment can make a difference to both individuals and society. Anne Louise will receive the OneCo Hero Award for 2013," Moy concludes.

About Aid in Action
Aid in Action is a voluntary aid organisation founded in 2008 by nineteen-year-old Anne Louise Hübert after she visited a village in Kenya. Aid in Action's purpose is to provide emergency aid and help with sustainable development for poor people.

Since 2008, Aid in Action has attracted considerable attention for its aid projects in Kenya. It started with fundraising for emergency relief projects in Kenya and Somalia, but has developed into self-help in the form of sustainable projects to help people out of poverty.

Aid in Action is characterised by its active use of social media to engage donors. Through blogging, Twitter messages, Facebook and with regular status updates and Facebook events, Aid in Action, with Anne Louise Hübert at the helm, has engaged young and old to give. Anne Louise has been featured on several occasions in national media such as Aftenposten, Vårt Land and NRK for her efforts in Kenya.

The focus of Aid in Action's work is the basic needs of people in developing countries, such as clean drinking water, nutritious food, safety and care. The funds raised have gone towards drilling water wells, building water infrastructure, constructing roads, building children's centres, purchasing greenhouses and food for schools and planting papaya trees. Aid in Action has successfully used competitions with prizes to encourage farmers to plant trees on their own properties.

Aid in Action does not pay anyone in the administration in Norway. All funds received go directly to the aid projects.

Aid in Action's ambition is to help the villagers to help themselves, and the organisation wants to withdraw in the long term.

Today, the organisation is working on starting up a business and learning centre in Ngumbulu in Kenya. Efforts are being made to coordinate all projects and find good solutions to help villagers sell their vegetables and fruit to the larger markets at good prices.
