AMS installation contract for 30 utilities

OneCo Elektro AS has signed an agreement for installation services for Embriq AS to Nettalliansen AS in connection with the introduction and operation of advanced metering and control systems (AMS - smart electricity meters). The agreement covers over 170. 000 homes throughout Norway, distributed among 30 grid companies.

OneCo Elektro AS has signed an agreement for installation services for Embriq AS to Nettalliansen AS in connection with the introduction and operation of advanced metering and control systems (AMS - smart electricity meters). The agreement covers more than 170,000 homes throughout Norway, distributed among 30 grid companies.

Embriq is the main supplier in the project, which also includes Embriq's central system for smart meters and grid operation, Quant. Meters and radio communication are supplied by subcontractor Aidon. The project starts in August 2015. Embriq will provide full-scale operation of the solution until 2024, with an option for a further 5 years.

The project is national in nature, with installers visiting more than 170,000 Norwegian homes and businesses in over 10 counties from Finnmark to Telemark and Østfold between now and the end of 2018. The fitters will be installing new smart electricity meters, which will also increase security by monitoring the quality of supply to individual grid customers in addition to precise hourly readings.

30 grid companies
"With 30 grid companies and 170,000 meters, we will combine our own employees and co-operation with local installers in regions where we are not represented. We look forward to working with both the grid companies in the grid alliance, installers and not least Embriq," Nielsen concludes.
